Thanks to Dr Tariq Idrees of Carisbrook Dental, a snake handler who has endured a lifelong fear of dentists has reason to smile again. After years of neglecting his teeth to the point of letting them rot because of his phobia, Rob Welton finally contacted the implant dentist Manchester specialists to see how they could help him and in a transformation that has been compared to the Pogue’s singer Shane MacGowan, Rob can now smile again without any kind of embarrassment.
Rob has been touring schools and hosting children’s parties as ‘Rob the Ranger’ for 11-years and his wide collection of animals includes pythons, scorpions, lizards and bearded dragons. After his transformation, Rob from Brandlesholme in Bury said, “I can finally smile again. The transformation has been amazing and I feel like a completely new man. I have so much more confidence and just wish that I had got my teeth sorted years ago”.
To complete the transformation, implant dentist Manchester specialist, Dr Idrees removed all of Rob’s teeth before fitting temporary dentures. Then as part of the restorative dentistry treatment he fitted medical-grade titanium implants (similar material to that used in hip replacements) to Rob’s upper and lower jaw. Finally, bespoke dental bridges containing a total of 24 new teeth were then screwed onto the implants.
The result is astounding with the implant dentist specialists and now once again Rob can smile with confidence.
Rob readily admits that years of poor diet and smoking, plus his fear of dentists, were the cause of his problem. Now a non-smoker he says that even though the whole treatment took around 18-months it was certainly worth it. “I love doing parties with kids”, he says. “But they notice everything and often commented on my teeth so I tried not to smile much. Now though I couldn’t be happier with my smile.”
Dr Idrees said that at Carisbrook Dental where they are recognised as the leading implant dentist Manchester practice they have a dental implants solutions programme that is so highly regarded by other dentists around the country that they actually refer their own patients to them. Dr Idrees commented that even though Rob had gross decay, misaligned teeth and gum disease, he has been able to provide what is in effect a new set of perfect teeth. He can now eat whatever he wants and has improved his chewing ability. Best of all though he now has an attractive, confident smile … and he is no longer nervous about coming to the dentist.
