Single tooth implants
A single implant replaces the root of the lost tooth, and a custom-made crown sits on top, shaded to blend in with the teeth around it. The healthy teeth either side are left untouched.
Multiple tooth implants and implant bridges
If you have lost several teeth in a row, you do not always need one implant for every gap. Two implants can often support a bridge of three or four teeth, keeping treatment simpler and more affordable.
All-on-4 same-day teeth
For patients who have lost most of their teeth, or whose remaining teeth are failing, a whole arch can be fixed onto just four implants. Implant-retained dentures
If you already wear a denture, implants can stop it moving. Your denture clips securely onto the implants, so there is no adhesive, no slipping when you talk and far fewer foods you have to avoid.
Bone grafting and sinus lift procedures
Been told you do not have enough bone for implants? That is not always the end of the conversation. Dr Patel and Dr Adams both have a particular interest in rebuilding lost bone and gum, and can carry out bone grafts and sinus lifts here at the practice to create a stable base for your implant.

A relaxed 15-minute conversation with a clinician about your options and likely costs, with no pressure and no jargon.
If you would like to go ahead, we book a longer appointment with x-rays and, where needed, a 3D CT scan taken here at the practice.
Within about a week, you receive a personalised report and a full quote, so there are no surprises.
Your implant is placed under local anaesthetic, with sedation available if you are anxious. After complex treatment, we phone you the next day to check how you are.
Over the following weeks, your implant fuses with the jawbone.
Your final crown, bridge or denture is fitted, and regular hygienist visits keep your implant healthy.

Your implant is only as good as the person placing it. Both of our implant surgeons teach at dental hospitals, and your final teeth are often completed by Dr Tariq Idrees.
Dr Neil Patel
When he is not at Carisbrook on Mondays and Thursdays, Dr Patel trains dentists as a Consultant and Senior Lecturer at Manchester Dental Hospital. He is on the GDC specialist list for oral surgery, and implants make up the bulk of his work, including the more complex cases that need extra bone or gum. Nervous? He can place your implants under IV sedation.

Dr Robert Adams
Dr Adams has taught implant dentistry at Cardiff Dental Hospital for more than two decades, after a hospital career in oral and maxillofacial surgery and a distinction-level MSc from London’s Eastman. Rebuilding lost bone and gum is where his interest lies. Viewers of Channel 4’s 10 Years Younger may have seen his work with Dr Idrees.

Anthony
Anthony had avoided the dentist for years because of his fear, and his upper front teeth were loose and causing repeated abscesses. They could not be saved, so Dr Adams placed four implants to hold a secure upper denture, and two implant bridges replaced the missing teeth in his lower jaw.
Bob
Bob’s failing teeth were causing swelling in his face. Once they had been removed and the area had healed, four implants were placed and Dr Idrees made him a full upper bridge fixed onto them. Today he eats and smiles without a second thought.

Travelling to us from Manchester city centre
We are about six miles north of the city centre, just off Bury New Road, and many patients find us easier to reach than a clinic in town. Ramps, dropped kerbs and downstairs surgeries mean patients with limited mobility can be treated on the ground floor.
Take a Bury line Metrolink tram from Manchester Victoria to Besses o’ th’ Barn or Whitefield. It takes around 20 minutes, then a five-minute walk.
Around 20 minutes from central Manchester via Bury New Road (A56), close to junction 17 of the M60. Park in our own car park, which holds 12 cars, or on the free on-street parking nearby.
