You have probably passed us a hundred times on the way to the tram. Behind the stained glass windows of our Edwardian building on Knowsley Road, just off Bury New Road, Carisbrook Dental has been looking after Whitefield’s smiles for 70 years.
Caring for Whitefield patients since 1956
Whitefield has changed a great deal since our doors first opened, but some things have stayed the same. We still take the time to get to know you, we still explain everything before we start, and we still care about doing the job properly rather than quickly. Many of our Whitefield patients have been with us for decades, and some now bring their children and grandchildren too.
Most dental practices around Whitefield are mixed NHS and private, often with large NHS lists. We work differently. Almost all of our care is private, which gives us time for longer, unhurried appointments. It also means we can keep a team of specialists here in the building, so Whitefield patients rarely need to be sent into Manchester for implants, orthodontics or complex extractions. In fact, many dentists in the area refer their own patients to us.

Getting to us from Whitefield
For most Whitefield residents, we are close enough to walk.
We are on Knowsley Road, a side road off Bury New Road (A56) in the centre of Whitefield.
Whitefield and Besses o’ th’ Barn Metrolink stops are both around a five-minute walk away. Whitefield stop also has a large park and ride car park.
From junction 17 of the M60, head north on Bury New Road (A56) into Whitefield. Knowsley Road is off Bury New Road.
The 98 and 135 both stop on Bury New Road nearby, and the 95 also serves Whitefield.
The fact that I’ve travelled the best part of 45mins to an hour for each appointment speaks for itself.
Parking and accessibility
Parking in Whitefield can be tricky at busy times, so we have our own car park with space for 12 cars, and there is free on-street parking nearby. Our car park and entrance are wheelchair accessible, with ramps and dropped kerbs, and we can treat patients with limited mobility in our ground-floor surgeries. Because our building is protected by a conservation order, we are not able to offer an accessible toilet. Please let us know when you book if you need any help on arrival.
Registering as a new patient
Joining us is simple. Book your new patient check-up online or by phone. It costs £73 and includes x-rays, a full examination and plenty of time to ask questions. On your first visit, we will show you around the practice so you know where everything is. Please note that we are not currently taking on new NHS patients.
Many Whitefield families join our membership plan, which starts from £21.17 a month and covers routine examinations, hygienist visits and x-rays.
