Our practice has welcomed patients in the same Edwardian building in Whitefield since 1956. Some of our patients have been coming to us for over 60 years.
Today, we combine that history with modern dentistry: a 3D CT scanner, digital scanning and low-radiation digital x-rays, all under one roof. We were named Best Dental Practice in a Major City at the Elite Dental Awards, coming out on top of more than 1,000 practices, and we have also won a WhatClinic customer service award.

Meet the team
Our practice is led by Dr Tariq Idrees, who has an MSc in Dental Implantology with Distinction and a particular passion for cosmetic dentistry and helping nervous patients. He is joined by general dentists Dr Jamie Barrie and Dr Rhys Gwyn, specialist oral surgeon Dr Neil Patel, specialist orthodontist Dr Usman Qureshi and specialist children’s dentist Dr Ellie Aliakbari, along with our hygienists, therapists, dental nurses and front-of-house team. Many of them have been with us for decades.
Dr Tariq Idrees
Dr Idrees took over Carisbrook Dental in 2007 and leads the team. An experienced cosmetic and implant dentist, he has a particular passion for helping nervous patients feel at ease.
Dr Neil Patel
A specialist oral surgeon, Dr Patel is also a Consultant and Senior Lecturer at Manchester Dental Hospital. He places implants at Carisbrook, including complex cases, and can treat you under IV sedation if you are nervous.
Fees, membership plans and 0% finance
You will always know the cost of treatment before it starts, and there are two ways to make it easier to manage.
Including x-rays.
Covers your routine examinations, hygienist visits and x-rays, with 20% off routine treatments and dental accident insurance.
Spread the cost of larger treatments over one to five years, with 0% options available.

Support for nervous patients
If the thought of the dentist makes your heart race, you are not alone, and you will not be judged here. We are an Accredited Dental Phobia Centre, and Dr Idrees has been registered with Dental Phobia for over 15 years. We offer IV sedation for adults and older teenagers, and inhalation sedation for children with our specialist children’s dentist, something few practices in Manchester can offer. Finding us, parking and public transport
Bury line Metrolink from Manchester Victoria to Whitefield or Besses o’ th’ Barn, around 20 minutes, then a five-minute walk.
The 135 runs along Bury New Road from Manchester city centre.
Close to junction 17 of the M60, with free parking on site for 12 cars and free on-street parking nearby.
Our building has ramps, dropped kerbs and ground-floor surgeries for patients with limited mobility.
